Robert Diamond: What exactly is CFUN-03?
Michael Smith: It is a two day ColdFusion conference in the Washington DC area on Sat 6/21 and Sun 6/22/03
RD: Do many people come?
MS: Last year we had 300 programmers attend.
RD: Wow, that is quiet an event! How many speakers are there?
MS: This year we have 24 speakers, including CFDJ authors such as Charlie Arehart, Hal Helms, Steve Drucker and Simon Horwith.
RD: How do you fit 24 speakers into 2 days? Doesn't sound like they
would get much time each!
MS: We have four simultaneous tracks, so each speaker gets 50 minutes.
You can pick and chose sessions from any tracks.
RD: What kind of topics are the speakers covering?
MS: We have traditional CF topics such as - SQL, optimizing, debugging;
then CFMX topics such as - XML, web services, CFCs;
Flash MX topics such as - Flash Remoting, Video streaming, RIA
and Empower Programming topics such as - Fusebox 4, UML, Stress reduction, Project Management.
RD: What about panels?
MS: We have two panels - one which you are leading on general CF questions and
the other is lead by Matt Liotta on RIA (Rich Internet Applications).
RD: And who is the keynote speaker?
MS: It is the new Macromedia Community manager, Christain Cantrell. He
will tell us about hot new things at Macromedia.
RD: Sounds like a valueable conference - is it expensive?
MS: No, it costs $199 until 4/30/03 and $249 after that.
RD: So how can our readers find out more?
MS: Go to http://www.cfconf.org/cfun-03/ or email me at michael@teratech.com
RD: Thanks and goodbye
MS: See you at CFUN-03!
