Detailed Agenda
Time Schedule
Speaker: This seminar is presented by Adam Churvis of Productivity Enhancement Inc., publishers of the Database Blocks ColdFusion development tool.

"The seminar we will be putting on in DC will be considerably more substantial than the first seminar we taught in Atlanta last summer. This one's going to be fast and furious; your brains will be smoking when you leave on the second day. Also, we will be remotely managing a co-located server live during the class to show what is necessary to setup and run a secure web server. Our many thanks to ComStar for providing the server and hosting for these seminars. We really hope you can make it, so register early (only $49 to cover expenses) as there is only room for 220 people. See you there!"

Q: Will you be covering commercial e-commerce packages at all?
A: No. The reason why we don't cover packaged systems is because not one of them -- our upcoming product included -- will do out-of-the-box exactly what everyone wants and needs. People have to know how to either evaluate and modify source code-based systems or build them from scratch on their own. This seminar will teach them how to do this based on the principles involved in the agenda.
The seminar is not all coding; much of it is theory and technique, but it often goes into details not known or often disregarded by attendees.
I would say that this seminar is more engineering than programming, if that makes sense.
Goodies: a) DatabaseBlocks door prizes at the end of the last day (five copies)

b) All code lectured on will be made available free of charge after seminar, for non-commercial research purposes only (a lot of it will be used in one form or another in ShopBlocks).

c) All registered attendees will receive a 50% discount on their first ShopBlocks website license. This will let you generate all the CF source code and SQL Server DDL to build a complete ecommerce site plus administration interface, ready for your own customization to your exact needs. This discount will be only valid during the first 90 days after the launch of ShopBlocks.

d) Registered attendees who are interested in beta-testing ShopBlocks and becoming part of the focus group may apply to become part of the Beta Testing Team, in return for which they will receive a minimum of 3 website licenses for ShopBlocks, plus additional website licenses in proportion to their level of participation, plus their names listed in the product credits. We will pick up to ten members based on their qualifications. This is an excellent chance for developers to have a commercial ecommerce product do exactly what they want it to do!
